Ummm...WOW!! That boy has serious problems if he is going to purposefully kill a chicken with the intent to terrorize you!
Sorry about your neighbor problems!

Un-real how people can be.

When I was a kid we had some crazy neighbors (my D1 lives next to the crazy widow as we speak). On one occasion he was swinging a running chainsaw over the fence trying to get my mom's German Shepherds to bite it. Another time he hit our cat in the head with a brick while it was on our side of the fence resulting in a brain damaging concussion for the cat who lived out it's days with a tilted head, blind in one eye and drooling. Also every time we rode our horses he let his dog's out to run the fence at us and often shot at them with a pellet gun while they were grazing.

At least you have the law seemingly on your side - our police did nothing (too much work).

At present my D1 lives with the crazy widow calling the city constantly for trivial stuff while SHE continues to burn her brush and stuff which is very illegal where they live. She is old now ... it can't last much longer. :tongue

Since this post has noting to do with being self sufficient I decided to post in my journal. Anybody read about the new law passed and signed by Obama that requires more graphic warning on cigarette packages?
If ever your in Europe, buy a pack of fags (cigs), some might say if your preggs and smoking your a murderer...

A slave to the weed indeed myself, plus the other 3,999 different chemicals added to ensure we keep up the puff... Not only is it anti social, its smelly and filthy as well. I am a smoker, and with each puff, I am just killing myself.

So as you can see, I am working on my smoking issue, not mending it for gum or other stuff. Taking it head on with the "easy way" process.... :he

Neighbor issues....

I am glad to see that I am not alone in such hair pulling events, I was wondering if I would soon be bald. Now that you joined me, I will stop pulling my hair and pull yours too... :p

In my case, there is nothing I can do, property lines are what they are. It does anger me that they have attacked us 4 times, and us being on the up and up every time. Seems like stress, and sometimes a target. Like you, nothing makes me more angry when me and mine are attacked and still hold the high ground. But it continues in some sort of fashion, might as well join them. Hence the reason I pulled a recent prank.....

Wanda, there is a lot to be said about chicken fat and water in your neck of the woods. I hear thighs at wally world are covered with fat, and you can use that and cook up a good meal. Trimmed chicken fat and a little water can go a long way, best to cook more fat than water. Think of it as a fatty stock, cook it, not boil it to get the fat out, let it cool and whip it.

I have from time to time kept some other fleshy meat just for added goodness...

Give it a few days, something rancid will come about.... It is what it is... a bad mixture... :hide

Blend it up and now you have some goodness to give back to your wonderful neighbors... :thumbsup

PamsPride we figured right after they moved in that the youngest son had issues. It took us a couple of weeks to finally figure out that the oldest probably had a few also. But the youngest one seems to be a sociopath (sp). He is a very frightening 11 year old.

We have acutally watched him beat his mother up. Probably why she wears a long sleeve coat all year long in this Mississippi heat. Dad is gone most of the time. Mom seems to live in denial.

They have moved 5 times in the last 7 years. At first we thought it was due to Dads job. Now we figure its when the kids get into major trouble or the school reports problems to DHS they move.

MP, interesting concoction you describe there. LOL I may have to use that. However, I am usually much sneaker and the queen of booby traps.
Oh and feel free to pull on my hair for a while. You might as well, everyone else seems to want a handful. Plus look at all the money I will save on haircuts.

I am also am now wondering if my predator problem that I posted about a week ago that was so confusing has explained itself. Because it disappeared after two nights. Now what animal is going to give up free meals after only two nights.

Sorry you got such awful neighbors. Wish you weren't having to deal with any of this,

I hope you can lock up your coop, so your chickens will be safer. :hide They are probably nervous about the kid getting them. Can you get some security cameras around your place? I would hide them so nobody knows they are on candid camera. ;)

Will cops prosecute a kid abusing a parent? They might get court ordered counseling, juvenile hall, - or at least move away.

Check with the mailman - but I think the chicken foot in the mailbox could end up with serious charges. Have a witness there when you open it, if they mess around with it again. You might start keeping a camera in your pocket to document what is happening. It might come in handy.
Good luck.

WOW 2dream---I feel for you big time.
A neighbor problem is the worst.

You mentioned they moved 5 times in 7 years. MAYBE YOU will get lucky! I hope so. Them moving would be ideal for you....hope it happens!

A fence?

Can you fence yourself somehow? Nothing else I think can work? Kids like you described are scary. UGH

Yeah FC we are thinking fence. We figure it will be cut but we will probably do it anyway.

Dragonlaurel, I was thinking about putting out some cameras. But figured any cameras we put out will either be shot of or stolen.

I would report the chicken foot in the mailbox incident to the police. They stole one of your chickens. That's theft. Period. Your neighbor is a witness, since they saw the boys around the chicken coop and called you.

:hugs Hope you get it all resolved. I need to stop posting now, because I'm angry for you and might say something I shouldn't. :duc

On second thought, maybe I need to take a road trip to Missouri! :somad

yea thing with a fence is you get extra benefits besides stopping the kids.

so you get more from a fence anyway.

and you know, fences do stop people....they get tired of having to deal with jumping over or ruining it etc. sometimes that "break" is enough of a barrier to maybe stop the activity.

hang in there gal. I know it must stink to the max.

No peace at your own home is the pits. Just solitude and peace and quiet....so little we ask, so hard to get.
