A new journey into homesteading "pic heavy"

Lol, and I was happy with my 5 blackberry bushes:lol: I got a handful last week and was excited. My big haul:

We're propagating more from what we have, and in a few more years, we should have enough for jam.

You guys have been doing a fabulous job with canning and raising your own food. Long term it's going to make a tremendous impact on your kids' health. Kudos to you and your wife!

Your garden looks great! All lined up and neat. The trellises might be more upkeep, but you have nice clean walkways, and the fruit is easy to see and pick. Plus, way fewer hiding places for snakes. I like the way you've got it set up.

thanks! i cant take credit for the blackberry bush. it was here when we bought the place. completely wild and thorny as heck!. lol

How are the rabbits doing? Any more new babies?

too hot to breed right now. i have 6 friers that are about to go in the freezer and then thats it till fall

well my butternut squash vines are dying but the squash isnt ripe yet. dont know if its the bugs or too much palmolive. anyway, will they continue to ripen with the vine being dead? should i leave them out or bring them in?

Well, the vines still have green on them, so don't pick the squash yet. The squash looks ripe in the picture, but maybe it needs a little more time. I'd just keep a close eye on them and pick them when the vines lose more of the green.
