Yeh. I am uber lucky. Summer is pure overstim... increased schizophrenia from lack of sleep and food... and non stop noise from all the fans. Computer fan runs louder too. And internet gets hot outside so signal fluctuates so work phone is garbled so work sucks more. :he

You need a portable swamp cooler. Those use way less electricity than a freon version. All you do is load it up with water then crack one window to allow the water to evaporate.

Per auntie's suggestion, I'm gonna fork over the cash to get a portable evaporative cooler. This is the cheapest that got great ratings (every below 4 stars was in a humid area and shouldn't be using evaporative there. Morons.) There's one for $10 cheaper but this one had all 5 stars from my area. :)

Actually it says that isn't at my store so I might get the other that also scored well for my area and save the $10. *shrugs*

The cheapest got crap reviews from everywhere so no point in bothering lol.

Watch how much living space is cooled for the money. The first one cools 300 sq ft and the second only does 200 sq ft.

I loved the review on the 2nd one from the person in Florida. Of course it didn't work! Wrong type of product for the area. :th

Note to all us folks wanting to dance nekkid in the garden: Remember the immortal words of my favorite "Down South" author, Lewis Grizzard. He wrote a book titled "Don't Bend Over in the Garden Granny, You Know Them Taters Got Eyes". :gig

Louis Grizzard used to write a regular piece that our local paper published every day. (Way back when it was a newspaper and not a mess). He is really funny.

My dad used to warn me never to plant onions near the taters ...because the onions would make the taters eyes water and they could not see to grow.

I was so unhappy when he passed away. Another of his books was "Shoot Low Boys, They're Riding Shetland Ponies". And we had his column in our newspaper also.

I've heard other jokes on those lines but I cannot think of them....

Deb... I know :p all the bad reviews were humid states. Who doesn't know evaporate coolers are retarded in the south? They spit out humidity and then blows on the water to create coolness. This can ONLY work if it's dry. We haven't gone above 30% this whole week lol.

I only need the cooler to cool my bedroom. So it's okay. It's just that I work in here and sleep in here and so it's always too hot. If I want the living room cooler, there's an AC in there, that is VERY expensive to run and doesn't cool off the rest of the apartment enough to be worthwhile.
