Thank you!!!! You're one of my favorite people I don't know!

:)

So far today:
ran errands (2 stores and farmer's market)
went to step dad's and was given an AC window unit. High quality and with a remote!!
set up to go to step dad's every day after farmer's market for the next few weeks to help mom organize her sewing room
vacuumed house
straightened kitchen
cleaned litter boxes (every other week, I fully empty and scrub 'em)
did laundry
cleaned fridge

and tomorrow AUNTIE VISITS!!!

We'll do a ballet barre if we can transport 2 10' poles lol. Otherwise, step dad and I will do it soon :D

Also doing kosher dill carrots and making the cherry salsa :D

You guys are kinda far apart, huh? I have a friend who lives by you and another one that lives by WZ. I find that weird! I think it means that sometime I need to come visit them both again and meet you both. Course I don't have a penny for that now. But what were the chances of it being those two exact spots in Colorado?

I should PM you guys the names of the people, huh? I know Colorado is a big state, but we narrowed it down a little. The person who lives by you has worked by you for many years as well.

SD, I don't know her, but visit her soon ;) And stop in for a bit with me!!!

TY FF :D

Guess what I just got?

I was dismayed at the thought of pitting cherries for the salsa, so I walked to Target (2 miles away, I brought my roommate and sweet talked him into buying me frozen yogurt on the way home) and got a pitter. And a new can opener (we have two crappy ones lol. My thought was to have a drawer with 5 or 6 non working can openers to annoy guests...). And a mandolin (AFTER I chopped 3 pounds of carrots today. Very prettily though. They're quite impressively uniform!)... And a new cheese grater (mine is rusted).

Love my mandolin, it makes short work of slicing for the dehydrator. As for cherry pitting ... I still live in the stone age. :/ I pit my cherries with a pencil that has had the eraser removed.

We had a power outage during salsa making. For three hours. So I had to clean up in the dark and finish this morning LOL!!!

Auntie and I had a WONNERFUL time! YAYAYAY!!!

We made the ballet barre.

We used this pattern .

Like my hula hoop in the background?

So anyway, the barre is ten feet across and the pvc is too bendy. So Auntie's thought is to cut 2' off and just make it an 8' barre. When we held it at 8' it WAS much less bendy. Any thoughts or input on it? The other thought is to chop it in half and do another vertical post to stabilize it :) So 5', post, 5'. Either way is fine with me, as long as it is good and stable.

Then I get to paint it!!

Put a wood dowel inside the tube. I thought a broomstick at first, but I don't think that would fit. The dowel wouldn't even have to be the full length.

!!! I'll try that :D And then I am going to glue the long posts to their side joints. I'm not gluing the vertical posts because I want to be able to take it apart and move it, but gluing the 10' poles into their spots will help. I just wanted to have it exactly right first :D

If it doesn't work, I guarantee I have uses for extra dowel.

Also, that is more feasible than MY idea (that Auntie shot down) of expanding foam inside lol.
