All the canning recipes are so full of sugar... fermenting lets me store without the sweet :) Do you water bath the same way for longer storage? Or is it better to pressure can?

Abi, I think there is info on long term canning fermented stuff in the Joy Of Pickling. I know preserving does negate some of the benefits of lactofermenting , but the vitamins and minerals will still mostly be there.

*nod nod*

Fermenting is fun :D

Okay. So I have the menu planned for Sunday. Since you aren't staying long, it all needs prepped first.

Hamburgers with cherry relish.
Coconut milk ice cream with fudge swirl (I'll either forget healthy and get Justin's version of Nutella, or I'll drizzle melted chocolate in lol)

And I'm putting together plans for the ballet barre so we can streamline the shopping. hah!

Here's a basic set up ... Then a heavy dowel for the barre. :D I bet we could use PVC too. I think that's waaaay cheaper.
But that is actually exactly what it looked like in my head...

Gosh. Recipe? What DO I put in it?

>.>

I'll think on this.

If I'm being lazy, it's pickled jalapeno and diced cherries, with spices. Sometimes some diced onion.

If I'm not being as lazy, I use fresh peppers and add apple cider vinegar and let it fridge pickle a bit.

We're due for some here too. Not like you are, but we need it. Tomorrow it looks like. Right when I need to haul all of DS's stuff from his cabin to the car. :p
