LOL, I've been bugging DS about what he wants to be because I usually start in August! The year he was a hovercraft racer we started in July. Can't wait to see!
Sounds fun! DS always keeps his costumes for roll playing. He hasn't done it so much in a while since he's turned 9 but every now and then I have lunch with Indiana Jones or Captain Jack Sparrow!
When the kids were small they were in 4-H. One of their favorite classes at the horse shows was Costume Class. Imagine how fun it is to dress up your pony AND yourself!
At one of these shows I helped my sister dress up a 1300 pound horse as a "little lamb" complete with black stockings on his legs, black face mask we made from double knit and a wooly coat with about 15 bags of cotton balls glued to it! His little "Mary" was a tiny little blonde girl that her mom dressed to the nines in lace and ruffles with a big shepherds staff. That costume even placed at the State Fair.
Another costume that we did was a "Fisher Girl". My D2 wore a life jacket cut offs and a big straw hat. She carried a bamboo pole and a stringer of "fish". We had the pony decked out in a straw hat, bobbers, rubber worms, a dip net and a bait bucket.
The reason that this costume stands out in my memory is that the pony spooked sideways and took off running wildly all around the fair grounds - one big loop then back to her trailer - when we first tied on the bait bucket.
I felt ick this morning, but went to dance, was a bit dizzy. Then I got to work and felt that pinchy pain of ovulation. Now I wanna puke and every muscle is cramped from feet to neck. So oops. That was not an egg. That was a cyst. Yech. That explains the fever feeling and shakiness... logged out with chicken broth til it settles.
