Most autistics are very anti-social, Abifae, but you seem to be very social and high functioning. I am a high functioning, paranoid schizophrenic, and only get symptoms when i forget to take my multi-vitamin pills. How do you know that you are autistic? What are the symptoms like? I hope you don't mind me asking.

Indeed!!!

I actually feel better about the movie and am more interested in seeing it now.

I've always confused the two. Some sword clad mostly naked male wakes up on another planet surrounded by mostly naked females and has adventures.
FJ slowly blinks his eyes, looks around, shakes his head to clear the cobwebs, slowly rises to his feet, and heads out to talk to the chickens, mumbling to himself.

Did I get it mixed up with the Gor books?

Maybe THAT is why I'm so confused.

bwahahahahaha.

 :duc :gig

Okay. That makes MORE SENSE. Thank you Sunsaver. I could NOT figure out how they allowed it.

But I do still recall they were naked the whole time, or nearly so.

eta: how cool you are related to him :D
Most of the "porn" from the 1940s was very tame by modern standards. But it was definitely a "guy" book. Cousins twice removed, or something. I'm related to the Stiegers, Bourroughs, Lawrences, Crocketts, and Jeffersons of Kentucky. One of my aunts did a complete geneology book with research, and my oldest brother did genetic testing on my mother's side, which said that she was a direct descendant of people from west Africa. His friend at work, waved a finger in front of his face: "You're not black!" She said. But it made her curious, so she did some genetic testing on her own family. Her Father was a direct descendant of an eastern European woman. When she told my brother this, he just waved a finger in her face: "Oh, you're not white!" He said. Hilarious!

Not anti-social so much as so uncomfortable they give up.

Well, I don't have any official diagnosis. I was childhood schizophrenic as a kid. And since I didn't get the autie diagnosis as a child, they won't give it to me now.

Core symptoms

The severity of symptoms varies greatly, but all people with autism have some core symptoms in the areas of:

Social interactions and relationships. Symptoms may include:
Significant problems developing nonverbal communication skills, such as eye-to-eye gazing, facial expressions, and body posture.
Failure to establish friendships with children the same age.
Lack of interest in sharing enjoyment, interests, or achievements with other people (this is a delay, I'm just starting to).
Lack of empathy - finally learning to fake it. People with autism may have difficulty understanding another person's feelings, such as pain or sorrow.

Verbal and nonverbal communication. Symptoms may include:
Delay in, or lack of, learning to talk I was 9. As many as 40% of people with autism never speak.1
Problems taking steps to start a conversation Getting better - learning by rote. Also, people with autism have difficulties continuing a conversation after it has begun.
Stereotyped and repetitive use of language until late high school. People with autism often repeat over and over a phrase they have heard previously (echolalia).
Difficulty understanding their listener's perspective i prefer people to use sarcasm flags. For example, a person with autism may not understand that someone is using humor. They may interpret the communication word for word and fail to catch the implied meaning.

Limited interests in activities or play. Symptoms may include:
An unusual focus on pieces. Younger children with autism often focus on parts of toys, such as the wheels on a car, rather than playing with the entire toy. I don't remember playing much. I got dragged into games by my siblings, mostly.
Preoccupation with certain topics. For example, older children and adults may be fascinated by video games, trading cards, or license plates.
A need for sameness and routines. I purposely freak myself out by sometimes walking a different route somewhere. For example, a child with autism may always need to eat bread before salad and insist on driving the same route every day to school.
Stereotyped behaviors. These may include body rocking and hand flapping. Still do!
Ummm... I also have a lot of trouble knowing which where is real. I've always hallucinated. Really gory stuff, but some was just weird. Like the SUV in the middle of Panera for a month. :idunno

All my senses confuse into one another.

I only just hit puberty, at 30. I'm 35 now and am very pleased I finally have tits!

I still toe walk.

Not sure what else. Not really sure any of it "counts" or anything. I asked auntie to help answer.

Oh yeh. And I'm kinda broken on caring and stuff about social things. Like, I don't care to make money or get raises. That's uber anti social. And I can't lie. That's the ultimate bad. lol. And I think beliefs are just traps that catch you and keep you from being capable of thought.

Abi symptoms...

Easily overstimulated in crowded rooms...or rooms with fluorescent lighting...or strong smells....or lots of noise...or.... (you get the idea)
Gets "flappy" (like literally flapping her hands) when she is frustrated
Hyper-literal ala a girl version of Dr. Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory
Often misses sarcasm (has requested a sarcasm flag ala Big Bang Theory)
Has trouble reading facial expressions
Is easily driven insane by scratchy fabrics
Has trouble sequencing tasks

I think that covers most of them :D
