Cold, but no more snow than last year. Typical weirdnesses LOL!

I survived a relatives thing today.

Step sister liked the baby prezzie (diapers size 1 and 2 and baby wipes). Saw two related aunts I hadn't seen in a while (since last Christmas for one and about a decade or two on the other). Other step sister was there with babies who are starting to walk now. And step mom's parents were there. It was very noisy. :hit

But I got to show off. I was wearing a skirt, scarf, and beanie hat that I made this week. *laughs* I do like to show off!!!

And I handed the nook to the nephew (I really like Paxson), and set him to playing Angry Birds all night. I think I'm his new best friend. So he is 5. I said "it is dinner time. After we eat and you wash your hands, you can play more Angry Birds." So after we ate, he went on his own and came to me and showed me his washed hands and politely asked for the Nook, please and thank you!!! <3 He's got MANNERS.

Dad showed off the basement. It's going to be awesome once finished. There is a huge hole where the toilet will be so we all told Pax that it was a squatter, old fashioned hole toilet. *giggles*

Also, dad showed me his bug-out-bag. It is WELL thought out. Including index cards attached to bags with notes about what to gather so they don't have to THINK in an emergency. They just have to follow their own instructions.

* Vacuum *DONE*
* Bag the frozen onions *DONE*
* Bag the now frozen buy one get one grass fed roasts. I bought 6. They need wrapped in freezer paper so they don't burn.

I can get there soon but with everything else, freezing them for now.

My roommate bought food for the first time in over 6 months and is now bitching (not meanly, though) about how much of the kitchen space is mine. *laughs* So I told him I'd clear a bit more room for him. I need to move all my food from the kitchen freezer to my upright, as well.

Which needs defrosted, but I'm moving in Jan. It'll defrost then with no effort on my part.

I'm glad you survived the relatives event okay. Sounds like it was maybe even a little fun?

That is a good suggestion of your dad to have index cards for his bug-out bag. I bet your mind does fly 100 different directions in a time of crises.

I rarely go anywhere anymore, but I have taken to using a big leather backpack I found at Goodwill. It looks really cool and and only cost 5 dollars for real leather, so I couldn't resist it. In any event, I have it stuffed with most everything important and dear to me plus I keep my kindle in there and gloves and a weapon, jacket, etc., basic first aide and purse stuff, and other essentials So it is a pretty good-to-go little bug out bag all by itself. Course I don't have to carry a purse around anywhere these days, about the only place I go to is the store occasionally or to my relatives houses. But I could always put a smaller purse inside this bag. But it made me realize that there are other important stuff I'd want to take out of here in case of fire, etc. Having a list of what I should add is a great idea.

Did you take notes on what is in the bag? I started to put one together but never finished.

His handcrank flashlight has a port to charge a cell phone!!!!

Someone mentioned buying one of those on another thread. It works with blackberries :D Yeah, ask your dad to send you a list. You should have a bag too!
