I think that both your letter looked good already and Jamie is on an excellent track for you here, just switch his idea out for that first section, or just make it longer. You could make it appear shorter by putting the paragraphs about you together, so you can do as Jamie is suggesting.

You can always string together things and say simply at the end of second to the last paragraph,
"I'm great, fantastic, wonderful, darling, intelligent and fascinating!" (inserting your chosen adjectives of course.

read your letter over and make sure you only use each adjective once. If you want to send me your draft I can look at it.

If you are making a generic cover for all jobs, you can't add cool info about the specific job. However, if you get to send via e-mail, you have the opportunity to say a little something on your e-mail your resume is attached to. So an individualized blurb can go there.

"I was delighted to see you advertising an opening at DeLight Care because I've always felt such a kinship with the philosophies I know the hospital is known for." Or some such.....

You're welcome. Improper English can be a killer when you're applying for a job. But then again, so many people use improper English, that at times, proper English sounds wrong.

I know Deb LOL. At work I say "what is the best number at which you can be reached" and almost all my customers say "HUH??" and I say "do you have a working phone number?" and they say "OH! oh. Yeh. Okay" LOLOL.

I probably get docked in QA for it. *scowls* But it's too hard to say "what number should we call you at".

To make this grammatically correct, it should read, having recently comforted and cared for a loved one through their terminal illness, I have newly discovered that I have a passion for this work.
Yeah, I know... :( My brain wasn't firing on all cylinders last night.

umm, pediatrics. From their website.

We have created an environment in response to the rising demand from parents and patients for treatment of asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, rhinitis, immune problems and recurrent infections - all diseases that are increasing at alarming rates throughout the country.

How can your skills and passions help? That's the question you need to answer.

I won't cry if they die?

Um.

I'll have to think on it. I find this all so stressful it's hard to answer basic questions.

keep focusing on what do they want to hear? What are they looking for? How do you fit the mold? Then try to make sentences that take your "skills" and adjectives and explain how they equal success at this particular job.

*nods*

Any hospital wants people who can (bold are things I can do)

*make patients comfortable
*stay calm in emergencies
*multi task and be efficient
*remember rules/laws
*be alert & notice changes
*communicate effectively

Things a CNA should be to avoid burn out

*be compassionate
*enjoy what you are doing
*be able to let go
*be able to prioritize
*learn quickly

And I can do all those, no issue.

I think I just feel very attacked when questions come AT me. LOL. I have to side step it and I know the answers to the questions... just not answering AT the questions >.>
