Advice on Kidney Stones

well the pain has not come back since yesterday morning when it started. I felt if for about 4 hours before I took ibuprofen and it has been gone since.

Apparently it was just an random odd pain!

If you passed it the pain will suddenly be gone.

Not if it were a small stone and the ibuprofen and water masked its exit!
They told me that I passed more than one because of the microscopic blood that was present and disappeared. I was drinking so much water that I didn't feel another at all. They also saw it on the xray and then it was gone on the next xray a few days later. It happens.

Sometimes, Dace, it's sort of like grains of sand....you probably wouldn't feel them exit your urethra unless they were pretty sizable...thank God they were not.

When they are, you can usually feel them exiting your body....it stings somewhat when they do. When they get kinda trapped in your bladder, you can feel them bouncing around in there and I can't describe that feeling but it's not real pleasant.

I am the kidney stone queen..... Don't know exactly why as I don't do dairy, pop or coffee or any of the other things that are supposed to cause stones. Some folks are just more prone to forming calculi.

I have had numerous stones, two of which had to be "retrieved" and I have a shunt in my left ureter right now. Should have been removed but has been there since '05.

Glad yours is gone now but don't be surprised if you have other episodes like this.
