Why not pen them up together at night at least? You'd know the difference between who's making what noise - trust me. Now I'm able to distinguish who's chewing cud, who's snoring and if the babies are nursing or playing.

On the positive side, though, March 3rd really isn't that far away and she could go early!
I may do that...just pen them together at night. I'll have to think about it.

Yeah, if she is really due March 3, then maybe she does have trips and that's why she prolapsed! :woot

Just trying to stay positive at this point. :barnie

Okie dokie. Purl must have been bred on 10/8. I don't think it's possible for her to be this overdue. So, cross your fingers she does have trips in there! :fl Her "new" due date is March 2 or 3.

I had an emergency last night. Don't worry, it was only a lard emergency! I went to the freezer to get more lard out, and THERE WAS NONE!!!! :barnie I called the meat locker and he said he should have some leaf fat for me tomorrow! Whew. :weee I'm going to render it in the oven in my cast iron skillets, because they could stand to be seasoned again.

And I dropped 8 coffee "sweaters" off for consignment at the local coffee shop this morning! I really hope they sell, I could use a little spending money! Of course it's going to go right back into my hobbies...the animals and crafting. :D

Purl is still preggo. I'm still going nuts trying to get my webcam working properly. The camera is too far away from my router and it won't send a steady signal. I had issues trying to get the Ustream website to even recognize my IP cam, apparently it likes USB webcams better. I'm struggling to learn some more about all this crap and I'm just not a computer expert. I went to Walmart last night to buy an ethernet cable so we can move our router upstairs out of hte basement so hopefully it will get a better signal. Of course they were out of stock!! :rant DH is going to Radio Shack this afternoon to get one for me. HOPEFULLY that will work. If not, I'm sending back the camera because I could really use that $80 for something more useful!

I'm finally starting to think about gardening now! I need to start seriously thinking about finding compost (I just don't have nearly enough) and starting cold crops. Lots to plan and think about!!

I'm finally getting some leaf fat from the butcher today. He forgot to call me last weekend (darn it!) so it'll have to wait until Saturday to render it.

I've been working on some felted pin cushions for some of my mom's quilting ladies. I made one for a raffle for mom's quilt guild, and I got 3 orders for them as a result!! I've got 2 done, and the third one will be finished tonight I hope. It's more of a PITA than I realized, because the middle is filled with raw wool, so the felting needles get SO sticky from all the lanolin. I have to stop and wash the needles now and then. I'm excited to have the orders though, because I can use the money on some animal supplies I need!

My doe is due on the 14th, and I'm REALLY looking forward to that. We've had to buy milk lately and the price just went up to $4.18/gallon! :th It's crazy.

Opi and Purl have had a chat.

They're both going to wait until your doe is going to kid and I'm in the middle of little g's 6th bday party which is going to be on 3/12.

That means that in just over a week we'll have Purl, your doe (I can't recall who's bred, but I think it's June), and Opi all go into labor as little kids are running around my house.

It's gonna be great.

Purl better not wait THAT long!

And almost every day I put my hand on June's tummy and feel the kid(s). There's something sharp poking out every time.

Last night as Opi was moaningly stuffing her face yet again I saw her right side moving up, down, left, right so I put my hand their and tried to figure out what body part it was. I think it was a head because as I pushed against it I could sorta cup it - then it moved back and jabbed forward back at my hand. Guess the little one's already starting!

I'm trying to do the math. If I *saw* her mounted on 9/25 day 155 was this past Sunday. So flash forward 3 weeks, assuming she didn't take on that heat cycle (not that I even know if she was in heat or not.....) that would take her next bred date to Oct 16th. That means day 150 is now March 15th.

Yep...March 15th.

Great time for a birthday party.

It's a really good thing we've decided to keep the party to just our friends and their kids - no school friends. I'm not sure how their parents would feel about exposing their children to birth goo and placentas at 6 years old (of course, little g could explain the whole process to them.....)
