Thank you so much!

Will June be sad w/o her babies? Reason I'm asking is b/c I have a very wild ewe (once used for sheep dog training) and I thought about just taking the lambs and bottle feeding them to tame them. Having a wild ewe is really hard. Now that Dolly is gone she is even more out of control. (She would follow sweet Dolly anywhere so which made her easier to catch.)
I was really worried about June not being able to raise her babies, but I found out last year (her first time) that she bonded to ME instead of her babies. It was slightly annoying for me, because she constantly called to me like I was a bad baby not staying right near her. Luckily she only did that for a week or two, max. I was worried this year too, but she did fine. I didn't let her lick them much, because I didn't want her to start bonding. It still makes me a little sad, but I'd rather skip the risk of the kids getting CAE.

I've never been a fan of bottle fed lambs though....to me they just never do as well as bottle fed goats. They just look skinny and pot bellied. :/ Could you just tame them after weaning? Or could you leave them on her for at least a day or two?

BBH, when are you gonna get some goaties??? C'mon, girl! Give it up! You know you want to! :D

Whew, I thought that little one was gonna latch onto poor Elmer's.....er.....well, it is NOT an udder!

Oh, and BBH, remember how I cried when I pulled Peach away from Ginger at night so I could milk Ginger? How I cried when they cried? Well, when I took Plum from Mya, she was just born and never nursed, and no one cried at all. Mya was a little sad and looked around, but it was not really traumatic at all. Although your sheep will need to be dried off....after you milk her for colostrum.

:yuckyuck Babies are so instinctual!

Good point Aggie. Free, I don't think I'll ever get to 'milk off' this sheep unless I flip her over. :p She gets so stressed, she would rather jump through the fence.

Can't be too hard to tame them later, can it? I did build a narrow but long covered pen so I can catch her. Food on one end, gate on the other... if that works then I won't worry about it. (Right now I'm just feeding her in there to get her used to it.) While she is penned I can play with the lambs a bit every day.

I LOVED that video!! What a happy puppy you guys have! What kind of dog is he?

Free, YES! Brutus was trying to nurse on everything! He latched on to the skin flap at the top of Elmer's leg...where it connects to his side. Elmer didn't care.

BBH, Elmer's mom was a Bullmastiff (small one) and we have no clue what Dad was! He's such a great dog though...LOVES the kids, loves when they lay all over him, etc. He's a lover boy. :love

I think it'll be fairly easy to tame the lambs when they get a little older. Mine are a week and a half now and I can't catch them easily, even though I held them for a minute or two every day for about a week. I just don't have the time to spend holding them, but if you do I would definitely hold them as much as possible. Once they're weaned though you can feed them treats (either little handfuls of grain, alfalfa pellets, or carrots or something like that). I'd also halter train them. The more time you spend with them the quicker they'll come around! :)

Congratulations!!!!! She was pretty much on her due date, huh!

Those kids are wicked cute - I love obers. Toggs and obers are among my favorite looking goats (Nubians still beat them by a mile in my book, though).
