LOL...the young man. :p We had parent/teacher conferences last night for DSS and DSD. They are both doing great in school!! So good to hear! :celebrate

So we're doing birthday stuff this weekend. My bro and his new gf are coming tomorrow! I'm going to buy some new pullets too, and the exciting thing is I raised $41 selling some knitted coffee sweaters. Between that and my egg money I have enough to pay for them without spending "our" money. :thumbsup

I had a total of 11 chicks hatch, but one died. It just wasn't right from the beginning. I'm hoping to sell them soon.

And my sister gave me a cheese making book and a soap making book for my burfday, so I'm going to read up this weekend!

Oh, and the federal government shutdown is affecting me, even though I'm not a fed. Our office is leased by the feds, which means we can't come in our office starting Monday. :somad :rant They're not even sure yet if we get administrative leave (paid time off) or if we have to use our own earned leave. :rant

Coffee sweaters? OK, I'm picturing a cup of coffee wearing a sweater and earmuffs.

Ewwwww....sorry to hear about that katie! I hope things go on the up for you!

The eggs in my bator are doing well. I've been slacking and still haven't candled them - prolly should since they're on day 9 today.

I sure can't wait to have some chicks....

OK, it WAS wearing a sweater, just didn't have the earmuffs. (Maybe you could add them?)

I spent the whole weekend thinking of how I can make earmuffs for coffee cups! I have a plan but don't know how to make it work. :p

My turkey eggs are due to hatch on Wednesday. I'm super nervous and excited! I candled them for the first time Sat night, and it looks like 5 of the 18 are definitely duds, but the rest have potential! :D

Yay for you!! I guess we're getting turkeys too - but they're already going to be hatched for us. Apparantly one of Big G's friends are ordering some and you have to order the minimum which is I think 12 - and he only wants 3 or 4 so Big G said we'll take a few and another friend is also diving in. Who the heck knows....

I'll have some chickies in a little over a week that's all I know!

That's great that you're able to split an order of turkeys! What kind are you going to get?

Good luck with your eggs! :D
