I guess we don't mind the taxes so much if it is spent wisely(lol),but I sure wish social security deductions was optional! Since it will be depleted in 2036 it would be nice if we had the option to invest or save our ss deductions instead of giving it to SS.

yea I am taking early age 62 retirement in 2024. I should get some of my money back as with hubby. I keep thinking my kid who is 6 yr old won't be paying in or getting Soc Sec when she comes into working age. SS is in big trouble for sure.

I keep hearing 2037 as the dead date for SS. wonder, hmm... I don't see a fix truly.
