They forgot to add that you will also get a day in the beautiful area around Half Moon Bay! :D
What a great opportunity for you; I look forward to reading all about it!
Well, it is a bay area group, so a lot of us go to Half Moon Bay just for fun. I love going there and riding horses along the ocean. One of my favorite things to do.
We used to go over that way a lot as well; so pretty! There is a farm just inland from San Gregorio (Hghy 84) with wonderful organic strawberries; I still miss those, I don't have a lot of luck with strawberries in my garden here :(
Yum. I had strawberries last year, but this year the chickens ate all of the lower strawberry plants. I've gotta try somewhere that's fenced away from them.

I'd love to do that. The only place around here we can ride along the ocean is Island Beach State Park, and it's only during the colder months. I went once, don't know that I'm really interested in going again. It was cold!

Just stocked up on canning jars and got myself a FoodSaver Pro. OSH had a President's Day Sale where if you spent $150, you got $50 off. So, I did. ALL on food preserving stuff that I'll be able to use to save us money in the future. :woot Now I've gotta get me one of those jar closer attachments for the FoodSaver so I can vacuum store my dry goods.

Mine is 19, and her brother is 25. So, does that mean I'm ancient?

My backyard looks like a ghost-town. The lemon trees and peach tree are all covered up and I've got row cover on the garden. That's the problem with the tender plants around here - they're not set to handle real weather.

We're supposed to get rain, cold, and ...

possibly *snow*! (First time since 1976, they tell me.)

I went and stocked up on half and half so we'd have enough for the weekend, cuz there is NO WAY I wanna be out drivin' around a bunch of california wusses who've never driven in snow in their lives. They can't even handle driving in rain, much less snow.

We've got plenty of firewood in case the power goes out. We'll be fine. Just imagining the chaos that will ensue around here if it does actually snow and stick for a day...

Nope, can't be true. I remember that it snowed once when we lived there; don't remember when, but it must have been between 1980 and 2001 . And I wouldn't worry about driving in it; if its like the last time it will disappear as soon as it hits the ground. ('Course, maybe thats why they tell you 1976 ... nobody can remember the one I mentioned because it was such a non-event ;))
