You talkin' to me?

Gonna let the chix free range tomorrow afternoon - the kids are off of school, they can watch 'em while I'm at work.

They have mucked up their run. It's a mud pit. I want them to stretch their legs a little. I could see the garden today!

I love watching my freerange too... but we have a serious hawk problem so they are stuck to their run for now... we do have 2 roos that are off to freezer camp soon running free range but they are pretty big so the hawks leave them alone...

I wish I had a broody... :( I did dig out the bater though... :D

We have had a lot of hawk action lately too. It is pretty scary to watch them divebomb you chickens. It seems that since we ove our goats to a more central location in the field, that we have fewer attempts on the chickens.
I love watching my chickens forage in the field.

The kids let the girls out while I was a work today. Everyone, including the family, had a blast. The hens ran all over the yard, tore up my flower bed mulch, and came charging up to anyone who walked outside. And my eldest DD discovered my RIR Colette is now officially spoiled. Colette would not eat treats dropped on the ground, she would only eat those hand fed to her.
