hope your sister feels better soon!

Believe me, if these eggs here hatched despite my bumbling and messing everything up, the egg will be fine if she got back on it.

Pictures, pictures, pictures.

'Twas the day before hatching,
and all through the site.
Barred Buff was jumpy and pacing,
Hoping his Broody would do the job right.

Cindi was stuffy and coughing,
and Deb in her jeans,
AL was already hatching,
while Jamie cooked beans.
....
anyone want to continue for me? :D

Don't take it too hard...I have never been a good hatcher either...I'd probably have more luck if I sat on em myself for 21 days...but I have better things to be doing

Last year I had two broody hens at once. I put 11 eggs under each, so I started with 22! Five hatched from the first nest and NONE from the second. A coyote ate one pullet, two were roos and I ended up getting two nice little hens out of it.

Not too bad for a first try I guess.......

I'm ready to try again but wonder if I'd have better luck with an incubator....
