BB - Don't stress. I haven't even gotten a pip out of my 18 eggs in the incubator. All in due time, I guess!
Last year I had a horrible time with broodys. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the chicks were dying. Turns out I had rats in the hen house that were having a field day with the newly hatch chicks.
I don't think that's the case with you at all, but wanted to share.

Don't be discouraged....I've had some mighty crappy hatches. I finally figured out that I was putting food and water too available and my broody was getting off the nest to much to access it.Then I finally had an epiphany...you know, one of those things you get AFTER you really needed it? When a broody slips off to brood a nest, she does not have water and food anywhere handy and does not leave those eggs unguarded/uncovered to go in search of any.
If I ever do broody stuff again, there will be water but no food kept in the broody pen. Sounds harsh but all my ruined hatches had red flags everywhere that I ignored.....no true broody poops was the biggest. Poops up on hay bales indicating the broody may have been roosting there at night instead of on the nest.
Considering how delicate the balance of heat and humidity is when one uses the incubator, any movement of that broody off the nest for any length of time can kill the hatch, depending on the length of departure.
It is all a learning curve, BB....just enjoy the ride!

By the way everyone I couldnt tell whether she hatched more or not. She DEFINITELy wasnt in the incubating position more of a brooding position wings out and more up right.Beekissed said:That's good! Poo watch....what next, huh?
