Sometimes those study groups are better than the adult ones. :)

Sunday school over the cell phone was a MAJOR sucess. :woot We finished Revelations and had some good talks on the subject to. Plus figured out what we are doing next Sunday too!! Creation to Noah next Sunday!! IM HAPPY ABOUT IT TOO!!!

I cleaned the poultry plaza out Friday morning, and I go down there this morning to stinky, wet, poopy coop. I didnt bother shoveling it out, I just put new straw down then let everyone out for foraging.

I have an idea, Im just about positivie that it will be rejected. But I would like to have a Bible studying group here on SufficientSelf. Maybe we read certain scriptures then come and decipher the meaning. Whadya think?

I think that is a sweet idea :)

I think that if it is done under someone's journal it would be ok....on the main board it may not be as well received.....I wonder if the mods would let us start up a fresh journal specifically for this? Sort of doubt it.

Hubby and I joined a small study group this fall and we just finished Crazy Love by Francis Chan. We really enjoyed it. But I would like to find a Bible study group, but seriously do not really have time to add that to my schedule. If there was one here I would join in!

Isn't there something in the rules about those topics?

I'm always afraid to post religious or political beliefs (although I certainly have them) because some might find them inflammatory. I'm more of a New Ager myself, but I AM from the West coast after all where those beliefs seem prevalent.

It is sad that discussing religion can be so controversial, especially when people are not from the same religion. I personally would be interested in your thread, BB. I am not a student of the Bible but am Christian and would like to see what makes you so excited to read Revelations. I have tried and found it too cryptic and lost interest; cannot imagine my son your age being excited to read it...... I am well aware of the many many good lessons in the Bible however and would enjoy your thread. I would check with the mods about how they feel about that first, and you can say right off that you were "cleared" and repeat any rules they may have about your thread topic so that disinterested parties stay out of it and everyone remains open minded and pleasant.

I have learned not to discuss my beliefs in "mixed" company because there are sometimes negative results and rarely do you convert someone to your belief.

I would start something like a yahoo group for it. Invite folk here. But religion is on the list of non discussed items, like politics. :)

I think if we did it in the journal section it wouldnt be a problem. I may have to inquire about that Dace.

savingdogs- I find Revelations fascinating. Most people interpret it as gloom and doom which it is. But the main purpose is showing that our creator is coming back for us. And when you read it and you decode some the symbolism in it, you will see many things related to our society today. I like it because it pertains to our society today. The re establishment of Israel is a big thing. Im curious how new age and Christianity merge? Dont feel obliged to share........ :)

Yeh. Ask the mods :) They'd approve/disapprove. And then just make it clear that the journal is for positive discussion and the bible study ONLY. No other discussions allowed or welcomed. LOL.

I want it to be something positive, helpful. Nothing hurtful to other people or beliefs. :) Purely Positive.
