Sally, I have "assisted" them in their wool shedding this year because they were rubbing their darn butts all over the side of the house, the garden fence, my stone wall, etc.

So, I caught them and plucked out much of what comes out easily...the girls still have pom poms and look poodlish but the loaner ram is slick now, thank goodness! He bent one whole section of my garden fence!!!! :somad

When they finally finish shedding they are going to look so pretty and clean!

Can't wait to see Oliver.....pics!pics!pics!!! :ya :bun :ya :bun

They ARE snuggly, aren't they? :love

Me too!! Pics! Pics! Pics!

I have never even personally laid eyes on sheep, very few people in my area have them and those that do are waaay off the beaten path apparently. Sad isn't it?

But if the snuggles are anything like those from goat babies... :love

Hold your horses! ;)

I'm heading out to get that device that lets me download PICs onto this old beast of a computer.

(The good computer/work computer went on a business trip. Hence the reason I brought home a bottle lamb. ;) :gig )

Oh, an by the way, this bottle baby is just like a real baby. You can't leave him alone to run errands! I'm so happy Sam (my dd) has late start this morning. She has to babysit him while I'm in the store! It is either that or he is coming in with me. :p

The Saints got to meet him this morning one at a time. He is wet now, but officially part of the family. I think he likes all the dog attention, they look more like sheep than we do. (Kitty is still mad.)

i had been around sheep as a small child, but had no memory of it other than pictures. when i found out i was moving to New Zealand, the first thing that came to mind was "I can't wait to cuddle a sheep!"

given that there are 40 million sheep (and only 4 million people) in NZ, there were LOTS of opportunities. they were EVERYWHERE! for the first 2 months i would squeal with glee every time we spotted some.

then it started to get a little weird. we broke down one night and i had to walk down to this little village- it was about 20 houses and a gas station. EVERY yard had sheep in it. and they all had to watch me walk by... if NZ is ever taken over by anything, it will be sheep. ;)
