I love the garden pics. TR and I talked about doing straw bale garden this year when he started pulling rocks out of the garden the size of Delaware! But we had already put the compost on top of the garden surface and ran with that plan for now. Almost every seed I started this year did not make it to garden planting.

I didn't realize you were making the feed bag totes. They look very nice. I was surprised to see Layena and Flockraiser ones, because up here those bags are double-lined paper.

Those Funny Ladies! Thank you for sharing the pictures of Mary and Betty. Everyone is looking very healthy and happy, Becca. It sure would have been nice if Mrs. Ford would have stuck it out on the hatch for you. :D

Love the pics Becca! I seriously need to start saving my feed bags....what kind/size of needle do you use to sew the bags?

I'm thinking the bigger ones would make great grocery bags....that's what I'd use them for. Or a pool bag....:p

I use just a regular needle and all-purpose thread on my old sewing machine. The lady on BYC (dmccann) uses a serger. Here is the tutorial page: http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=374147

Most of my purses start as 14 x 14 squares and I use at least a 1/4 inch seam. I also line them with cotton fabric.

I need to get more done as I have a couple orders.

That link didn't work for me, maybe it is my computer? Those are super cool though. I've been thinking of making egg tote bags, maybe I should make them from that and use my fabric to line them.

Becca, LOVE the bags! Oh if I had the time to sew...
The garden is looking great. I need to do the straw bale thing...everything here is flooded and turning yellow on me. I am SO done with all the rain!
These silly turkeys are laying again...looks like I might get a few poults after all. :D
