Did you know that there IS an online site for people who farm and are single? I have to look through my stuff and find the name of it though.......

It was started by a guy in his 30s who never had time to date because he is a full-time farmer. He wanted someone to share his life that had the same or similar life goals and dreams. I think he recently married.

Figures that keljonma would have an answer for you, Becky! She has all kind of information, knowledge just tucked away in her head!

I'll take whatever help I can get!

Yes, and my sister even suggested that when she called to say they made it home.

Funny that the last time I was sick similar to that was with my sister, brother, and their families in NC on a trip.

I got the well-meaning recommendations about how I should be spending less time with mom and farming and more on finding a man. LOL Problem is that I have rather high standards. The guy I'm looking for is not hanging out in bars every night, or whatever, and there are just not a lot of places to meet 30-something country guys who love God first. :/

I feel ya on that one, Becca! Not too many men out there who could match me in the harness, if you know what I mean. All I ask is for a wise man. If he is wise he will love God first, if he is wise he will have good values, if he is wise he will cherish a woman...he will be thrifty, honest, humorous, clean, hard-working, fair and open-minded. Like me! Anything less is just not worth the strain.

Same old thing....they look like a mudrail fence but want you to look like Brittany Spears. They drink, smoke and run the bars and want someone who will "love them the way they are and not try to change them". They love kids....just don't want to love yours. They have a farm but just want to date, not marry, as they may lose the farm that way. It goes on from there.......

Becca - I am new, just read through our journal. You seem so wonderful! I wish I coul meet some of you wonderful ladies in person!

I have an emden goose named "Thor" (my husband named her for the Nordic god of war . . hoping she will be arnry with the boys next door) and another goose, who was labeled emden who I think might be a tolouse. Her name is Loki (Nordic god of mischief). Loki is sweet and "mothers" the chickens. Thor is nice to us and chases and honks at everyone else (good gaurd goose )

Gee, thanks for the encouragement, Bee! But I honestly have come to the point that I'd rather be single living in the country with my peeps than be miserable in a relationship like too many of my friends are. There are so many bad matches out there that it scares me to try. So, I just keep telling God that if the perfect guy for me exists, then He'll have to plop him down in front of me.
