Aww, Bee, bring her in to watch a little tube and have some popcorn on the couch with you and the boys! Sheesh! You are so negligent!

I WAS eating popcorn and watching a movie! You are psycho....er....I mean psychic! :D

If the lambing pen was bigger I would have bedded her down in there......but I didn't really plan on having a cow. As you know full well, cows just cannot be raised in someone's back yard! :(

My sister raised an orphaned foal in her basement/garage and backyard one time. So why not a cow? :)

FF, just a little insider joke on elitism. ;) I think my little cow will do wonderfully in my back yard! She has some cow friends in the next field to sniff noses with, chickens to scatter her pies and will soon have a back yard sheep to keep her company. She has shade in ever paddock, fresh water daily and the tender-best grass available.

According to Salatin, when she gets some competition for grazing, she will clean up her paddocks better....not leave some of the undesirable, older grass like she is now. He says this is why open grazed fields always look clumpy because the cows are not mobbed up and competing for graze in a smaller area and so they eat all the "ice cream" first.

I'm hoping he is right. I'm also hoping that they are correct when they say sheep will eat the varieties that cattle won't and vise versa. I hope to see no clumps in the paddocks except those around the repugnance zones.
