My brother is the one that PAINTED our bathroom plaid. It really came out well, better than I would have expected. He has a mailing list for all of his friends called "shoe of the day". He is obsessed with fabulous shoes....gets it from my granny. Me, I could care less, rather be barefoot! All the walls in his house are light gray, though. He did it that way so that he could change out the artwork whenever he wanted and wouldn't have to worry about colors clashing. His husband is a techno geek that djs on the side. My brother is very "artsy". He used to make clothes for all my barbie dolls when we were kids!
Thanks for all the compliments.....and, yes, that is a chocolate bunny I'm munchin' on. I cut out the right side of that pic, which was my cranky, manipulative sister crying about something or other. She was always considered much cuter than me.....
I probably ate the ears off her bunny or something..... :/
Lori, the "Shoe of the Day" sounds so funny! You know, if I were turned differently and were more....maybe materialistic...I could really get into the clothing and shoes thingy. Probably why God has allowed me to be so chubby....no fun dressing up when you have to go to Omar the tent maker for your clothing!
I used to have a "Word for the Day" at work, to improve everyone's vocabulary!
On that note, I found some fab fabrics today for the window shades and picked out some paint colors to try against the walls. The fabric for the living room is an absolutely gorgeous faded red paisley....love it!
I tell you what, girls...not only am I going to do a before and after on the rooms. I'll go one further and tell you a little secret. I'm also attempting a personal makeover this year. I will do a before and after pics of that, but only if I succeed!
I am trying to get in shape and slim down....also want to find a way to get my hair back to its original color, which is now very laced with silver. I've been letting more and more of the silver grow in but am still struggling with getting back to my color without covering my grey. I'll keep you posted!
The blue for Eli's room is called Surfer Blue and it is very cool and pretty. Very good tones of grey in it. I found a fabric that matches it perfectly...and on sale!
I LOVE my grey! I wish my whole head was silver like my temples and hair line.....its very pretty to me. I just feel the need to stop lying to myself and others by covering up what God gave me. I earned each and every grey hair, by golly!
I don't, however, like being this heavy and I'm ashamed of it. I've let myself go to pay attention to all the other things clamoring for my attention. Now I don't have any excuse to try and buckle down to tending to my health. I'm getting to the age where I don't want to feel old or weak but will definitely start feeling like that if I don't start getting in shape.
I hate forced exercise but I am starting a walking program and, of course, doing more of my own chores. With the boys gone, its the perfect time to get back into the swing of it. I don't mind, its just more time consuming. It will help fill the lonely hours!
Bee, I love to walk. It is so relaxing to me. I started regular paced walking for a while just to MOVE more. Then I started to view my legs as a vehicle and I began challenging myself. Over the last 3 months I went from 1/2 hour a day and dreading it, to one-two hours a day and looking forward to it. I picked up the pace and chose a more hilly and challenging terrain.
The beginning was not that fun though, my feet ached, my hip (? don't know why) ached my brain said no...but I pushed through it. After the first week I began to feel so good. I walk with a friend, but if I didn't I would listen to my ipod, FAST music makes me go FASTER!
