I tried doing that with electric fencing this year, BBH, but it didn't go well. They walked right through the cross fencing most of the time but wouldn't go through the garden fencing, which was odd.
This winter I am using T post and fencing the orchard and garden once and for all. As time goes on I will add more fenced paddocks to implement more rotational grazing. I will also need extra paddocks when I get my own ram.
I would really, really like to invest in stock panels for most of the paddocks and may just try to buy a couple here and there all year so I can do this. They are so very versatile, stiff enough to move easily, strong and can be used with T post if needed. They store better and they can be used to make makeshift pens in a jiffy. I think everyone should have stock panels!
