I think you guys will really like what I have planned for this book. It will be a combination of a story about our former off-grid living, combined with some humorous looks at how one makes their way through this thing called life when one is a poor hillbilly and it will end up with some step-by-step photo guides on how to do simple hillbilly skills such as:
Gutting and skinning a deer.
Making bread from scratch.
Killing and processing a chicken.
Clipping chicken wings.
Building a TBH out of a plastic barrel, hiving a swarm, maintaining the hive ala Barefoot Beekeeper style (of course, this one is going to be documented as I learn and grow~remember, this is a two year project!)
Growing a garden.
Canning.
Banding a male sheep.
Making cider, apple butter, apple sauce, apple head dolls, etc.
And more......
Sort of a combination autobiography, how-to, how-NOT-to, Foxfire-type of a book.
Yeah Bee! Write that book! I will buy 10 signed copies! You make a difference every day- to your patients, their families and to us on this forum. We all love you..and the Bat!
I will give copies of your book to people who will finally understand what its like to be SS! You are a kick a@# writer!
WOW! You guys are making me cry! But in a good way...... You have no idea how much your support means to me.
When you tell most folks you want to write a book, they immediately have this skeptical or doubtful look on their face. Well, not the ones who really know me, but folks at work and such.
It warms the cockles of my heart to hear this much support and well wishing. I promise you that you will not be disappointed in this book....you will laugh~either with me or at me~! It will make you think, it will maybe give you inspiration and you will be entertained.
And I will be definitely be mentioning the wonderful folks on this forum in my book....how could I not?
Any suggestions from you all about things you might want to learn or know that you think I may already know how to do? Seems to me that most of THIS crowd won't really need the how-to section...but try to think like a person who is the run of the mill target audience for this type of book. What would they want to learn, ya think?
