If the outside flea was up and going, that would have been my first look. I put a word in with a contracter fellow down the road a few miles.

Monday I am going to post a note to see if any of my employees might have a couple around.

I was on BYC and saw a coop with a stained glass window, it was beautiful and all, and I am sure the owner loves their chickens. But if I gotta hold of that window, why I'd be hacking away at my front door. Heck with the window in the coop

No problem...we change them all the time anyway! This is my third title for my journal, so it will likely change soon anyway, friend. ;)

Hey darlin', I can't wait to see pics when you get your sheep! We are talking about sheep or goats later down the road so I am soaking in all the info I can! :D

Today was Retrain the Free Rangers Day on the Hillbilly Heaven Homestead! I've had a few hens who are going rogue and laying out in a private nest which, of course, the bad, brown dog is promptly gobbling down his wretched throat! :somad

So....locking the hens in the coop until late afternoon, minus the roos. I will be culling a roo this week, as he is too large and rough on the gals....I have three BOs with rapidly thinning feathers on their backs, one BS with a damaged wing~looks to be nerve damaged. Everything is live and learn around here.....

Lesson for the Day: Do not have a roo the size of a turkey to breed chickens the size of....well...chickens!

Still waiting on broody to hatch her peeps! :pop

Bee, we are doing the same thing here! Re-training the free rangers. Problem is, since I'm not opening the coop, they are leaping the run. So, working on covering the runs now.

Figured out that I'm not getting the eggs, even though we have several hens with bright red combs, because they are laying them UNDER the house and the dog is eating the eggs.

I know how THAT feels!  Hey, Aly, are you clipping a wing on those birds? Might try that....cheaper and easier than covering your runs! :D
