I can understand why bugs don't bite somebody with the sulfur. Would you want to eat something that tastes like that? :sick

A little DE in the nests is a good idea. Let them out for some exercise before sprinkling it. Let the air clear a bit before they go back in.
I used it for fleas in a house one time- it worked, but my eyes, lungs and sinuses were mad at me afterwards.

I make a soap with flowers of sulfur (I find mine at Walgreen's) and sage leaves added to a basic soap base. I made it originally to help with my psoriasis and then found out that it also repels mosquitoes and (seemingly) ticks! Bonus bonus! :p Must be that sulfur at work. It doesn't seem to get into my system as much as the powdered form that you are talking about.

We had a dog years back with a lacerated paw pad. The vet prescribed a sulfur based medicine with the warning "KEEP OFF SKIN". I gloved up to apply it, but the dog jerked his paw and I ended up with a dab of the medicine on my forearm. I could taste NOTHING but rotten sulfur for a WEEK! :sick Just hearing you all talk about it brings back that awful taste memory. :sick

TY, UTC!! Right back at y'all! :) The weather has been hot but we had some good breezes today. I'm sure Easter Sunday will be a great time.....I always hate it when Easter is rainy, cold or snowy.

Today we built shelving in the outbuilding and mounted a scavenged formica counter top so that I will have a good work bench and area for drying flowers and making wreaths and baskets out of them.

I can't wait to get that building more organized and work-friendly.

Yesterday my youngest ran away from home but this morning he was ready to come back...thank God for answered prayers, huh? :) I hope he never does that again...though I turned it over to God, I was one sad woman during that time. Kids, huh?

I hope everyone stays safe and happy for Easter Sunday! :frow

Hi Bee! :frow

Glad he came back. :hugs Was he just mad at a rule you were inforcing?

When I was a kid I told my mom that I was running away from home. (I can't even remember why anymore.) Mom packed me a lunch and said, "have fun" and shooed me out of the house. :/ Not the reaction I was hoping for. I never pulled that cr@p again.

Well, you know...the usual teen attitude adjustment type of rule enforcing. The whole speech about being more willing to help around the house, losing the huffy body language and tone of voice, if you don't this is how it's going to be from now on, blah, blah, blah...... if you don't like it, there's the door, blah, blah, blah....

So...after I went to work, he decided the road was his choice and he took it. Then he found out who his friends were....or weren't...

The Bat was all for my not calling him or going after him....she was quite miffed that he had pulled this stunt. I wasn't too happy myself but my oldest did this a time or two and it didn't go far.

So, the next day I gave him a call and he was ready to apologize and come home...the Bat didn't think I should have been so accomodating. But then, I'm not my mother and I know this about children.....when they run away they often just want someone to care enough to come and find them. A night away from home, staying with semi-strangers and having nowhere to go the next day can make a kid stop and think..."Gee, home ain't so bad after all!"

So I fetched him home and we had a good day. This is good enough for me. :)

I don't know Bee if I could have been so understanding,..my boy, when he starts his "cr@p" I just threaten to make him go live with his grandpa,..this shuts him up real quick. :D He knows which side his bread is buttered on. ;)

Usually my boys do too...this one happened to have a little cash in his pocket and was feeling like a big man....

I think he is just reacting to and acting out to the fact that now my mother lives here....and even though I love her, she has some attributes that sent all her children running away from home as soon as they turned 18. :/ She's a little type A and can't stand mess, noise or confusion....and those are the three things that define my boys!

Then my middle boy moved back home and things were even more crowded, he started doing more things with the oldest and guess who is left out? Yep, the youngest...which is how I always remembered it when I was the youngest to 8 brothers and sisters. Not fun.

Add to that the fact that he's coming down to graduation, prom and has just joined track and has been training hard......well, the poor guy has a lot on his plate.

He's growing up, things are crowded at home~just when it's supposed to be HIS time for a senior year and to feel grown up and special~his grandfather is in the center of a legal battle and is quickly losing his mind and still living in a mental hospital and his mom is working overtime at work every day.

You name it, it's happening and the poor guy isn't getting enough attention.......you can bet I'm being understanding!!!! It's enough to make anyone crazy and want to run away from home!!! I've been contemplating it myself........ :p
