I'm trying to apply at another school. I had one quarter of the program left, had been in honors the entire time, had good reports from staff on my client care, etc, just slipped a word out around a staff member. I would completely understand getting kicked out if it had been around patients/visitors, but in a "secure" area, not quite so much. Stiff reprimand, sure, but getting kicked out?! :/

As for the molds, they were plastic, so I couldn't let them get hot (even soap gellin on it's own would melt them). They were also a PITA to get soap out of, because freezing made the plastic a little more fragile, and I have broken some trying to get soap out. The new molds are freaking awesome though!

Can you appeal? I agree, that sounds kind of harsh.

We're appealing it. Going in today to have our first sit down with them. I have mixed emotions about it. It was almost a relief to be away from one of the instructors. The harassment and such was getting to be too much for me. Looking at another school was starting to look much better. But it would be nice to finish up with the rest of my girls in class. I guess either way, the issue of bias and harassment will come up today, so if I don't make it back in, hopefully, at the very least, they do SOMETHING about the teacher from hell.

At this point I'm not even sure that a staff member had been around to hear me. That doesn't add up at all. First, how would a random staff member at a hospital employing over 1,000 employees know who a student was? Second, the information provided is not something a staff member would know. Supposedly it was a day that I had been switched assignments. How would a staff member know that? They don't. Not to mention to know exactly who I was is just ridiculous. The school won't release the information to me. Technically, I have the right to see that documentation of this report and if they cannot tell me who reported me, then I can say that they're full of it, because I have a right to know my accuser.
The other girls in the class have really been supportive. The person I believe reported me was actually approached by her friends and told that if she was the one who reported it then she was the lowest form of life in that class. I was quite a bit shocked about that, because I honestly didn't believe that those girls were all that fond of me. But people have been bombarding me with texts today. I told one person that I was going to fight it and I get texts from eight other girls shortly after giving me advice, telling me that I can use their name, etc, etc and wishing me luck to get back into the program. A few girls wanted to talk to admin themselves, but I told everyone to keep their mouths shut, or they'll be in trouble too, lol. But, the response from the girls in school has been overwhelming. I am truely blessed to have so much support in all aspects of my life.

Didn't get anywhere. She wouldn't give specifics, just said that a few students heard me. She basically recommended that I apply to another school, mentioned a few that were around here and said that she would tell the new school the good things about me, but that I was overheard swearing in a locker room. So... Basically, going to apply at another school and hope for the best I guess. I know who reported me based on what they whispered to each other (didn't think I heard, but I'm not quite THAT deaf). I just love that one of the girls who reported me is a foul mouth to the extreme. You hear the F bomb from her on a daily basis. Other girls have told me that they're reporting the sin out of the girls from this point on, but honestly, I don't even care. I'm just ready to move on to a better school without an instructor who has a legacy of 20 years of being a jerk to students and hopefully a few males to help balance out the catty bullcrap of an all female class. Plus the one I'm looking at is more spread out than this one was... Which means that I might actually have time to breathe and do something for my kids and myself without having to wait for breaks in the levels.

Wow..that is harsh! I wasn't aware censorship was applied during nursing school. And in a locker room at that!! I mean, if you were with a patient or family member, that's different...but to be kicked out over a swear word in a staff locker room?

I agree. And I'm not just saying that out of bias, d/t my situation. I've heard every other student in our school swear, some in not quite so appropriate places (such as cafeteria during lunch and in the nursing station) where visitors and such could potentially overhear them. Where I made my mistake, I wasn't in an area that could possibly be overheard... On an entirely different floor from where patients/visitors are permitted and in a locker room to boot. But, alas, suck it up and deal with it and try to move on. Figure the best I can do is offer some counseling or something to the new school to show that I'm willing to work with myself and not swear around anyone. I just feel like the school thinks of me as some monster who was attacking patients and foaming at the mouth or something. The admin did say that I had a good chance of getting into another program with advanced placement. I asked her honestly, on a personal level, what were my chances, and if this was presented to you from another student from another school trying to get into your program, what would their chances be? She said pretty good, that the very first thing she'd tell them is that I'm a very bright and very capable of completing a program, but that I was reported for swearing. :/ Guess it's up to the other school to decide if they want to take that "risk". My best shot is to show the new school any way possible that I am not like a rabid dog off the leash, just made a mistake in an area I had thought was "safe". :/
