You know? I'm not entirely sure. It had a clearish blue base and the typical silvered top. I think it's already in the garbage truck or I'd take a look to see. It's definately not a Bic though, it was some other brand. I usually stick with Bic, but that was one of an inexpensive Walmart pack that I bought awhile ago. I'll stick to Bic from this point on.

I'd let the company that made the lighter know. And, I"d also think about sending them a bill for the repairs!

I should go to Walmart and figure out what brand it was. I know that I'll NEVER buy that kind again. It could've easily been much, MUCH worse. As it is, it's enough of a pain in the ass to clean up after. I'll definately let everyone know if I figure the brand out, then people can avoid that kind. :/

Clean up sucks. Hardcore. There are many, MANY things I'd rather be doing than washing soot off of ceilings. It's only about halfway done. :/ I have to keep taking breaks from it. I've got someone coming for four chicks today, then another person wants a dozen. I'm hoping that they come tonight, but I know my luck doesn't run that way. I'm going to be sorting through the button quail in the morning and taking some of them down to the auction, since I haven't had a single bite on them through the ads, go figure. I have about seventy of them in there!

I'm at $52 for chick sales so far. Two people are coming for chicks, totallying 17 chicks. I'm now out of all of my blue egg laying birds, including the possible lavenders. I'm not 100% sure they're lavenders, so I didn't want to sell them as such, and didn't really want to raise them to be honest. So, the rest will be heading for auction tomorrow, including thirty something button quail. As of right now, I'm at 40 something keepers, I think 42 or 43. Some are still hatching, so we'll see what happens. I might get rid of some of the whites though, as I have 11 of them so far, and I'm not sure that I want to keep all 11. I might though, and then just keep them in a seperate pen to keep some pure whites. It looks like I might have one tux out of 114 eggs... ALL three batches of eggs were supposed to have tuxes, and one batch was even a tux and white only batch... The tuxes were seperated from the whites, so I'm getting a few whites, then some other goofy lookin things in there, that do NOT look like tuxes, or even pieds. I do have a few pied birds though, mostly just minor patching on the wings... I think there are two of them in there. Not exactly super pleased over it, as I've put about $65 into getting tuxedo birds. I'll hang onto a decent number, then see what I can hatch out of those eggs and go from there.

Maybe you could just use matches instead of a lighter. Glad you are OK. That is scarey!

Was this a cigarette lighter or one of the long lighters that are used for candles and such?

Let me know so I don't get one!

SO glad everything was ok. Shower curtains can be replaced!

It was a cigarette type lighter. Still haven't gone to check the brand out.

The birds all went to auction today, and of course, the price was low today on anything livestockish, and high on pet. Rabbits going for $20 (usually $3-$5), chickens were dirt cheap, but buttons did better than I expected. I was expecting about a dime a piece, maybe a quarter a piece if I was super lucky, but ended up going for a dollar a piece. Chickens went for a max of $0.75, which wasn't so hot for the thirty something that I took down. Of course, I was driving home when I get a message from a guy who wanted a dozen of them, saying that he was once again interested in them at $2/each. Like, really, people, can you freaking CONTACT me in a TIMELY MANNER?! I get tired of hanging onto birds constantly for people who want them, then I get stuck with them for another week, then they decide to back out of it. Since I hadn't heard anything, I loaded them up with the rest of the chooks. Still have fourteen birds down there for another buyer.
I bought a few more turkeys... Seven to be exact, and they're all BBW. I also ended up making a pretty stupid mistake, and came home with 40 cornish x... As much as I said about ordering 25-50 of them, I really only wanted to go over 25 for the price discounts... So, now I have 40 birds, when I was thinking honestly, that I only wanted to raise maybe ten for meat purposes. Going to try to sell them locally to bring back the cost of gas and such (paid $0.95/ea on the birds themselves) Thinking $1.50 to start, then maybe drop a little as I always do. Figure that'll help pay for them and the gas, while still giving people a really good deal.

Huh, well, I use the long stick lighters around the bath tub, so hopefully that won't be a problem...

Glad you sold everything. Hope it works out good!
