You have a point but you have to understand that everyone isn’t near to DC. Some people don’t have the money to go to Washington DC just to watch the inauguration. With the help of TV the inauguration is watched all over the world.
The more likely there will be surveillance cameras, the less likely I am to be there.
I saw this thing in CNN where they asked everyone in the crowd to take a picture right when Obama put his hand on the Bible.
They then put all of those together so that you can zoom in on any particular area to see who was in the crowd, in the stands, ......
There's no thrill I would pursue if it meant that my face would be picked out of the crowd.[/QUOTE
Speaking of Obama's hand on the Bible, that was the very same Bible that Abraham Lincoln put his hand on at his Inaugurations. I thought that was a beautiful idea and so apt, I couldn't help getting misty...
Years ago my father-in-law got hold of a couple of tickets to the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament and my hubby went with him. Hubby really didn't want to go because he thinks golf is boring and elitist (apologies to golf fans out there) but his dad told him you had to watch it live to enjoy it. Well, he got to see President Ford, Fred MacMurray, Telly Savalas and Bob Hope, but he still thought it was a yawn-fest. When he sees golf on tv he likes to yell at the screen "Give me back those five hours!"
