are you reading up on grafting etc.? orchards are hard but once you know the secrets they do well.

our peach trees require pulling baby peaches off so the others can mature....when we didn't bother, they were puny. Now we make sure we take the time to space the fruit til maturity and yes, we get good peaches! :)
FC, what are some secrets to good apple orchards and harvests?

this is a good little site, gives ya an idea of a backyard orchard.

our apple trees never did well. We had about 12 on the side of the big barn but we kinda neglected them :hide

important is learning the pruning techniques. Open up the big limbs inside so the fruit can get air/sun etc to grow well for you.

plus pick out a tree variety that does not get too tall...lol...easier if you can reach easy to work on the trees.

We let our older trees get away but we have several youngs ones that we prune often and we have the semi dwarf types, thanks for the link.
