Broody Hen Hatch Along

I had 23 broodies at one point this summer. It was ridiculous. I'm setting eggs today or tomorrow. Finally getting some from the next pen on the rotation.

That's a lot of broodies! I have the potential to have 15, but I hope they won't all go broody at once!

That's a lot of broodies! I have the potential to have 15, but I hope they won't all go broody at once!

I have the potential for around 60 at the moment. Each of the five silkie pen keeps 10 adult hens over winter but have more now. Then there are the large fowl who usually go broody once a year.
