My grandson felt the same about bananas, until DD offered him a very ripe banana. He is now also eating zucchini and peaches from our garden. It is so much fun to feed him the egg yolks from our pastured chickens and fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Soon we will be giving him milk from our goat too.
Quite a few people have allergies to bananas. Perhaps they are telling you something? My sis has a banana allergy, I am sure of it, yet she still eats bananas. She says they make her mouth and throat feel itchy, but it is her favorite fruit. Go figure.

banannas are related to latex, people with latex allergies even mild ones tend to react at least a little to banannas...

i USED to have bad reactions to banannas...(im HIGHLY allergic to latex) but i started experimenting because i love narners...now i NEVER buy them green, and let them continue to ripen to the point that there lightly leopard spotted on the outside and pretty much just before there about to go yicky dark/bruised/overripe (and never refridge them). i found when i started eating them properly ripend i stopped havign a reaction to them.

green (or yellow banannas that have been frozen/refridgerated (outside ripens but the actual fruit doesnt) still make my throat itch and lips swell though.

still havent figured out a way to get around some of the others though.

people allergic to latex are often allergic to any and all of these foods
Avocado
Banana
Chestnut
Potato
Tomato
Kiwi
Pineapple
Papaya
Eggplant
Melon
Passion Fruit
Mango
Wheat
Cherimoya

for me, kiwi, papaya, pinapple, eggplant, and passionfruit all give me mild reactions, banannas as i said used to as well but i think banannas come form the fact that there picked green then frozen...the fruit is never given a chance to properly ripen and leaves that dry itchy yicky taste.

ive also found theres a big difference between banannas sold in the UK (carribbean bannanas) i NEVER had a problem with banannas while living in the UK...
and banannas in the US (south ameircan banannas)
i think as i said ts a combination of harvesting time/practice
but theres also a huge difference in taste between carribbean and south american banannas...so im wonering if certain strains are also mroe prone to causing issues.
