Almost Self-Reliant
Congratulations! She is a doll! Sounds like this was meant to be.
Sounds like a case of the Lord providing you with what you wanted but couldn't afford otherwise! It's encouraging to see how the Lord brought this adoption about for you!Bubblingbrooks said:About 2.5 years ago, we took in a family in need for a few months. Things got better, but as is often the case, when they moved out, everything went south.
They divorced, and now due to the mothers drug issues, the children are with grandparents.
The father got into another situation, even though he knew it was not right.
Stuff happened, and due to many issues, they had decided to not keep the baby, very early on in the pregnancy.
Now, I had no idea that this situation had occurred.
Two weeks after she was born, they officially asked us to take her. Needless to say, that was a mind blowing day.
We have always wanted to adopt, but the cost has always prevented it.
We tried to do foster adopt, but the agency completely ignored us after all the paperwork was turned in.
We have no idea why, and for sure have never done anything to cause that.
One thing to note, is if you want to look into private adoption, is to be VERY careful.
There are MANY women out there, looking for vulnerable couples to scam.
It is illegal for the mother to receive anything from the prospective parents, before, during or after.
This is considered baby buying, so please be aware of this if you find a mother wanting money or things to "help" with expenses.
The state can provide all she needs, if she is truly in need.
