Can you guys offer some insight to help me get rid of my sinus issues?

Have you considered dust mites too? Another common allergy that can drive my nose to plug right up. Do you have a central vacuum and do you use any of the mite products like Febreeze anti allergen? They really help me.

Also yeast is a common low grade infection in the sinuses, go to a health food store and get a yeast buster, Oregano leaf powder or oil are the most common and take it for a few months. Don't go short especially if it seems to be helping. If things seem to get worse when you first start taking it (more drip and general cold symptoms) then it's working, it will take time to flush it all out.

ETA for the record I tired the dairy free for (the worst) 6 months of my life with no results at all in any of my allergies, joint inflammation or energy level. It was then highly recommended, it's very difficult to do totally since milk is in near everything so your making all food from scratch, and now that many have tried it most docs don't bother suggesting it unless a test shows sensitivity.

Chinese thought would indicate you have too much water. You would cut out the dairy and increase heat (eat spicy foods, etc) and avoid taking long baths (increases water).

:)

I'd say cut carbs too because boogers are made from sugars. I researched this when I wanted to know why I was less stuffy on low carb and boogers are pure sugar! So why do they taste salty, I wanna know!?!

I would first suggest seeing a chiropractor. Sometimes they can adjust the neck in such a way where it will relieve the pressure.

The other suggestion I have is to get some garlic-mullein oil. Lay on one side. Place a few drops in the ear, wait a few minutes, then do the other ear and wait a few minutes.

The ears and the sinuses are connected. I would see if it helps kill the germs in there.

Unless you have a hole in your eardrum, which you shouldn't, the oils you place in the external ear will not penetrate the inner ear and eustachian canals....which is the desired effect, I'm thinking?

Sorry abifae, but boogers/snot/mucus/whatever are NOT "pure sugar".

Leaving aside the obvious water content, mucus is largely composed of proteins, with salts and enzymes and small cells and cellular debris also present.

Now, it is true that the proteins in mucus are in large part glycoproteins, i.e. proteins that have carbohydrate (oligosaccharide) chains attached as *part* of their structure. As the name suggests, an oligosaccharide is several (like, several to a dozen-ish) simple sugar molecules joined together. So yeah, there are sugars involved. As with many other chemical compounds.

However to say this means that snot is "made of" sugar, or *is* pure sugar, is equivalent to saying that _War and Peace_ consists almost purely of the letter "e" repeated over and over ;)

I know there are lots and lots and lots of happy websites and books out there that like to explain things in ways that fit whatever idea or product they're selling, but it is worth checking what they say, at least when it is something that sounds unlikely to begin with ;)
