I have some of those lids, have had them for years. But, I don't recall where I got them, and have never seen them for sale since.

No plastic Nazis here!!

We use the Sterilite Plastic Milk Storage Crates to store our canning jars when not in use.

They last longer than cardboard, are lighter, stack easier, are reusable, easy to clean if need be, and best of all..... CHEAP!!

Those reusable plastic jar lids ROCK!! We use them for after we open a jar of canned goods, but didn't use the whole jar. Slap one of those lids on and toss it in the fridge!

We keep canning jars (full and empty) on shelves in the basement, along with lids and rings in a plastic tub. The tattler sealing rings have to be stored flat.

I got some of the white jar lids at WM - love them. I also discovered the lid from a canister of grated parmesan cheese fits perfectly on a canning jar, and then you can use it as a shaker.

I gotta check THAT out!!

Did you also know that the little squirt bottle tops that are on most ketchup bottles and liquid dish washing detergent, will also fit on the one quart oil/transmission/power steering containers?

I keep the empty jars in the same place I kept them when they were full (in box or on shelf), only upside-down so it is obvious to me how much applesauce or wahtever is left.

You couldn't do this if you keep them in very low tight shelves where you can't reach in to the back of the row to put empties back in; but for any other circumstance, it works great.

That's a good thing to know!

I do this too, and I put the rings on the empty jars - it stores the rings, and protects the jar edges from nicks. For extra rings, I have two cloth bags hanging in the storage area, one for small rings, one for large.
