Had DH look at your diagram, he said it looks like the EGR that should have a hose going to the EGR solenoid. Hope that helps.

The vacuum hose for the EGR solenoid comes off the intake manifold. This steel tube she is asking about, "should" be the EGR supply line, which would go from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve, which also fastens on the intake manifold.

Hey, this is my fiances answer (mechanic, has severe learning disabilites but can tell you anything about mechanics.)

Its an emisions tube that attaches to the EGR valve that attaches to the intake manifold that allows the exhaust to be reburned if you look on the other side there's one over there.

You need to order a part from Ford, normally 100-150.

Hubby is planning on going to the pull - n- pay place and ripping that off another old Taurus. We got the car for free and it technically could : asplode : any minute so we don't want to spend a lot of money on it

Also, it got viciously attacked by one of our maple trees and now needs a new windshield
