abifae, I do the same thing! Heavy, but worth it. I cook eggs with cast iron every morning. :)

Abi, you gonna need to stuff your fanny pack with big rocks to hoist your cast iron pan? lol Like my neighbor does with his tractor when he is hauling heavy loads.

Cast iron! All the way! I never use my stainless fry pan anymore, it has been years. No contest.

I use steal if I'm cooking vinegar things and don't want to turn my food funny colors LOL.

Cast iron from me too. Hubby is the proud owner of 2 dutch ovens that he uses to cook yummy stuff outside. I have several different sized skillets, a griddle, and a wok. My mom has a big deep one she always used to fry chicken - mmmmm good! (Note to self - better get that one 'cause she can't lift it any more.)

Another vote for cast iron, as long as you do not have one of those glass top ranges.

Cast iron, here, too. You just have to be careful on the glass cook top. ;)

Don't forget a good oven mitt/potholder-type thingie. We've found that cooking something for a long time gets the skillet really, really hot.
