This video has gotten me some unusual feedback. It never occurred to me that I doing this barefoot until now. A previous comment still posted on the video, is about my hands.

Years back, when teflon coated pans were becoming popular, I asked my grandmother why she still used that old black pan and not one of the new non-stick ones. Her answer was something close to "Boy, these here are the original non-stick pans". It wasn't until I was older, that I knew what she was talking about.

We were given a set of Club aluminum pots and pans for our wedding, and we have a very nice set of Magnalite, but 90% of our cooking is done in cast iron.

I have not seen the video yet, but will be watching it after I leave this site. Thanks for the link.

Just edited to say that I enjoyed the video. And yes, I did indeed notice the bare feet. I prefer socks, but that's just so I can polish the hard wood while I shuffle.

Be sure to look for his bare feet. :p

I must remember that great trick of salting and peppering the pan and letting it get nice and hot first! That was exactly what I was doing wrong!

Thank you so much!!

And using salt to clean off the last little bits was a great tip too.:thumbsup

Do you want us to rate the video, does that help?

In future videos I guess I need to be more careful about my feet! It never occurred to me that people would talk this much about feet!

So now I had to go look at the video to see if my feet were doing anything weird. Yup .... I'm barefoot and in the kitchen. And with my pie belly, I might even look a bit pregnant.

Ratings and comments on the video is always a big help. Subscribing to my videos is a help too. I've learned quite a lot about youtube in just the last week. I think any time you find a good video by anybody, it is a good idea to do those three things: rate it, comment and subscribe. It helps to push the good stuff up for the rest of us.

Being on dialup, I can not watch the video. :( I have several cast iron fry pans, and just got my first bean pot/dutch oven. I havent used any of them in a long time, because of my glass top stove. I can't waite untill this stove dies, and I can get a good electric one. I want to use my cast iron again!!

Well, it was recommended by the manufacturer, not to use cast iron on it...of course, it also said to not use a pressure canner, and I do....Hmmm, I might try. The worst thing is...it would crack the glass...and I get my new stove! :p

Well, I inherited the stove when I moved here...so I never read the manufacturer's rules and regulations.

But here is a cookware forum (oh God, say it isn't so!!) that discusses the use of CI on glass top stoves. According to those folks we can do it as long as the CI is smooth on the bottom etc.

(There may be some issues of the CI getting too hot and thus making our stoves adjust their temps etc.)
