Me toi've been warned that i may need to use my new pan this coming weekend. woohoo!
yes, i know, i'm excited by simple things...
this sounds like the best white elephant present "game" ever! I have partaked in some really lame ones but this sounds good. Nice find for your wife (and you!)My wife pulled this out of the white elephant present pile. I'm gonna try it out this week on a half chicken. And mostly likely ham beans on the wood stove later this week also.

Our version of white elephant.
We each get all the kids Christmas presents. But us adults only purchase one present with a maximum price and label it white elephant. All the white elephant gifts go into a pile. After the kids open their presents and are playing with them.
Then we count the white present and write the numbers on pieces of paper. we fold the pieces of paper in half and everyone who purchased a white elephant gift gets to draw a number out of a hat.
#1 and the last number are the best to draw. #1 gets to trade a gift at the end if they want and the last number also gets to trade a gift, if they want. My wife unwrapped the lodge 5 quart dutch oven. I had the last number and got some girly bath bombs, lotion and some funky epsom salt blend. I traded my daughter-in-law for a backgammon set. It's fun and no one ever knows who purchased what gift, unless they want to tell.
Jesus is Lord and Christ
I used my out door (has the legs) oven for beans for thanksgiving. The next morning the wood stove did less than putting hot tap water in there. Even with throwing it on the fire outside the next day they were not done in time. I even cheated and stuck a weed burner under it to get it boiling. Make sure to stir when doing that.lol Another option that we thought about was crockpot day1 then out to fire on get together day.likely ham beans on the wood stove later this week also.
