Well... Today we put the flashing and tar paper on the roof of the bedroom addition and sealed all around where the wall meets the roof/ceiling. (The interior walls are still studs) That's about all we could afford this month. Winter is always tight with the higher electric bills. Our bills for Dec, Jan and Feb can be 3 times what they are the rest of the year. Our plan now is buy 2 or 3 bundles of shingles each month until we have 10 and then we will finish the roof. At least with the paper up there it's better insulated and won't leak. Anyway, I digress...
The plan for the next couple of days is to kick back and relax! It's pretty boring around here most of the time. Other than the daily chicken chores and cooking, I'll probably be on the internet or sitting out watching chicken TV. It's probably my favorite show!
I am jumping out of my skin wanting to get to the market. I have brownies to bake and I'm looking for a new cake to try and I can't go to the store 'til the 10th! I'm totally out of sugar and nearly out of butter. But I do have eggs! Got 4 out of 5 today! Go Girls!:bun :bun
A friend who runs a backhoe service and septic digging co. stopped by this morning and I found out he's raising a Yorkshire hog at his place and has a half share in an angus calf with a buddy. Turns out he has a friend in Joshua Tree who is a butcher. Good to know...
Browniesssssssss I got 13 out of 30 eggs today I have an awesome carrot cake recipe I will share with you if you want it. Carrot cake doesn't SOUND appealing....but ya just have to taste one tiny bite to be convinced! It is LUSCIOUS! So do ya want it?
I had a mehhhh kind of day. Long story short I got to help someone in need and paid WAY too much to fill my truck, but then isn't that like normal or something?
Oh yeah I need to make some of those too! here ya go Cheerio
Crackers
2 c. flour (I use self rising but it actually calls for plain)self rising adds flavor IMO
2/3 c. warm water
1/3 c. oil
Mix well. Divide into 2 balls & roll each onto a greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with desired seasonings(I use garlic and chives but you can use whatever you wish. cheese is good!) Cut with a pizza cutter to desired shape and size. Bake @400 for 10-12 minutes.
You will CRAVE these dang things :/ They taste like Cheez-its if you add cheese to the dough too and sea salt the tops!!
