It was in the low 40s today down here in CT today. Hopefully the winds were blowing in your direction! It sure was windy!

I have an idea. You go grab some of that wonderfull goat cheese and bring it out here ;) I might even let you do some weeding in the backyard in the sun Afterwards we can eat home made goodies and test my home made plum wine.

I've never had feta cheese before.

So what kind of cheeses have you made so far Monique? You must come and visit so you can teach me how! Man, I need to make a cheese press too!

Our does are drying off as well.. pretty soon no more milk :hit

How long have you been milking Mya? Jenna wouldn't stay bred last year so we decided to milk her through. She's been lactating 20 months now and still gives a quart a day, she's really going to enjoy a break.

It's been about a year....wow, time flies! I will wait for her preggers test to come back before drying her off, just in case. I started freezing milk and have 14 pints in the freezer. When I was filling out the paperwork for the lab, I realized she is much further into her pregnancy than I thought (a bit chaotic in my house this winter! :p ) and she will be at the three month mark in a couple of weeks, eeeek! Assuming she is pregnant....no hints of drying her off until I know. Then I will have to get her dry as quickly as possible. She is still giving between two and three quarts a day. Her weight is good so far.

OFG, that is why we got a second fridge off of CL for $100, only three years old, used in a flower shop, and it has no freezer so it is all fridge! I do have plans for a root cellar, but the fridge keeps mice out, too. And holds all my many jars of fermented stuff.

FD, I'll be right over. Dad brought his winemaking supplies and those two five-gallon glass carboys are calling to me!

And H23, I didn't admit to the gorgeous balmy breeze because....it wasn't as funny! And I'm not yet running around outside in bare feet!

Man, what a bunch of great goatie girls we've got eh?

I wouldn't worry too much about drying her off; she'll help you along soon enough if she is indeed pregnant.

Hm.... We have a 'SHEEP!' thread, we might have to make a 'GOAT!' thread pretty soon. I have two does ready to pop before the end of February (I think), I'll need a place to post pictures if all goes well!

I can't wait for my babies!!!! I hope everyone is pregnant! We need several goat threads, one just for baby pictures. I love my goats. I smooch Ginger every day, she is so smoochable. The Princesses Chunk love their scratchies and their treats, and Mya gets all the best goodies as thanks for all the milk.

Now the nameless buck has taken to kissing my face and neck every day....he knows who he needs to suck up to....
