Sunny, windy and beautiful yesterday. I machete chopped thistles until 2:30. Got 3 fields cleared. Practically none in the back field. They are blooming and I don’t need ten million more. I had to get them down! I’ll pick them up in a couple of days, bagged and set out for the trash. Otherwise those darn things will release seed anyway. I had some 3-4’ across and 5’ tall! Where I mowed them down last year, they put out multiple stalks. Talk about overachievers! AAARRRGGGHHH!

Almost taller than me!

Would you believe thistles store water? I found water in the hollow stalks up to 6” high above ground level.

I am adverse to using poison, but I’ll be spraying the stumps with Grazon. I DON’T want them coming back! I have tall ones, ground level short ones, fat ones, skinny ones and ALL are horrible.

That was my day yesterday. Today I drive 6 hours to Corpus Christi to watch my middle granddaughter in a play, spend the night and come back tomorrow. I’m taking a lot of chicken, parted into skinless boneless breast, leg quarters, ground chicken meat, chicken pan sausage and buffalo wings. Every year I raise and sell chicken, it pays for mine and theirs.

Not snowing here 👍

So I've been trying to figure out how much rain we got. I had put a empty 5 gallon bucket out to catch air conditioner condenser water. The bucket was plum full.

And you know I don't ever recall anyone stealing TV's when I was a kid.
