Almost Self-Reliant
My great grandma's recipe (she probably stole it let's be honest):I would try making biscotti for DH. Please share a recipe!
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 small spoon baking powder
¼ cup butter
¾ cup sugar
a sprinkle of anise seed
a bit of lemon rind
a bit of orange rind
sprinkle of salt
dash of vanilla
Mix butter and sugar in bowl blended; beat in eggs by hand until fluffy. Place in flour, baking powder and salt into butter mixture until mixed. Add remaining ingredients. Divide dough (How many pieces nonna???). Shape each part (What?). Place each roll on sheet and flatten slightly. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (I'm assuming 350?). Remove from oven; cut (Excuse me? Cut??). Place in rows on sheet. Bake until pretty brown. (I think this is a weird translation issue).
I couldn't tell you how much a "dash" or "bit" is. Do what makes your heart happy. I might have translated some stuff funny, she spoke her own form of italian no one quite understood. I think that a "small spoon" is a teaspoon??
