And for pete's sake, vaccinate for lepto if you do nothing else... it is carried by mammals; dogs, foxes, coyotes, cattle deer, hogs... can be contacted through any contact, drinking water where an infected animal has peed... stays in the soil, on the grass anything... causes abortions... VERY COMMON... and easily taken care of with a once a year or in a very high infection area, twice a year shot... about $1.50-2.00 per shot... CHEAP INSURANCE...this can pass to humans... it is a Zoonotic disease.
Trich and vibrio will cause abortions and in some cases can cause the animals to have long periods between getting pregnant and carrying it full term...

What you think of these unregistered (non-tattooed) belted galloway yearling red bull calfs? @farmerjan both were born this spring and been vetted. Dad has maxed out at 1600 lbs full grown, which is below the average. They have never bred so no idea how big of a calf they make. Other than his dad is making midsize (high 50's heifer calf to high 60's bull calves).

It would be nice if you were closer, I could take you with me to go check them over, ask the tough questions. Pick the best of the two. All three including the black hefier calf in the middle are the same price .

I appreciate your wisdom tremendously, more than you may realize - Thank You 👍

We are hovering around 30F today so roads might be a tad slippery but thankfully I do not have to go out and drive. DH left for work at 4 am and he said back country roads were slippery but once he got to the neighboring town it wasn't too bad. Today is a day of desk work and light housework. I will probably cook up some potatoes to mash and freeze. After work and DH is home, we will be headed out to the woods to grab some wood we cut down in the spring, bring it back to the house to split and stack on the deck to use first-nice light soft wood to burn during the day.

DH said roads were slick last night - ad enough he suggested I shouldn't go to te gym. (I didn't) I hope they are better this morning .

Mashed potatoes! I used leftover potatoes last night to make potato patties. 2 heaping tablespoons of flour, 2eggs, 1 medium onion, chopped, and drop by spoonful in hot oil. I was going to heat up leftover beef roast too, but didn’t. I just chowed down on potato patties. Lol

Coffee is ready, going to go get a cup.

Have you ever frozen these and used for later? If so, how did they turn out?

Snow here...

For awhile now, but very little until yesterday.

Yesterday we got only 4 inches maybe... Anyway, not a huge amount...

But, slushy nasty stuff... almost didn't make it up the driveway.
Hey you! glad to hear from ya,
slushy is no good, praying for safety for you all,
