Heard spring peepers last night!!!

I heard birds singing this morning! There are robins hopping on the [small] part of my yard that doesn't have snow on it. I'm expecting lambs to start coming any day now!

Saw a red winged blackbird Saturday

Do they migrate there? They live here year round. They follow me when I carry the birdseed to the feeders twice a week. They also will steal chicken food. Hence bird feeders to keep them out. They did chase off all the invasive starlings years ago, though.

Yes, they are migratory here. Some robins stay year round. Bluebirds are our other spring birds showing up.

We had a strong storm roll through. Had to head to the basement. Neighbor lost trees, they are OK, which is what's important.

Storming here, good news is, power is still on. I have Tac lights for power outages. Going to rain and storm next 2 days. I’ve been working on chicken tractor for Dirty Birdies.

I left off it yesterday to drag pallets in Coopers pen, to build him and his 8 ladies a shelter. Hard to squeeze 9 sheep in the Quonset hut.

Called ewes and lambs in for feed this evening before the storm hit. Ewenique, 9 year old ewe, led the charge. That’s her 3 month old black ewe lamb behind her.

Eve, the last one is a tiny speck in this picture. She is due Friday and she’s huge. Poor girl can’t run, only a quick waddle.
