@Grandmas Porch can you rent a tractor? Can you get heavy bags for chips and fill several, haul more at once in truck?
no DH wont rent one, the shavings are like the ones in this pic [zoom in ] that I use on the pathways in the garden, I dont know if they are to ?splintery ] they aren't chunks, they are kind of itchy--thats why I havent used them yet.
the guy that owns the big saw says back when he had chickens he used them??? but I dont think he would have ever noticed if they bothered the chickens or not----Do you think they would be ok???

Remember the little belted galloway bull calf Romeo, that we picked up November 2022? he was freshly weaned and 6 months old then.

Well he's now 13 months old now and he ain't so little anymore. Thankfully Romeo is still calm and gentle. But I'm on my guard more so than the others when i'm around him. I really wanted to halter train him, but it was cold on a old man's bones last winter.

He's looking good. How many head do you have now? One thing that's nice, he's a different color.
That makes it easier to know which one is the bull 🤣🤣. Faster.

Coffee and breakfast. Wishing the overcast for another day would hurry back to my beautiful blue skies. Gloomy isn't my thing. Better do chores. Time to milk.

Yesterday and this morning the morning rings with multilabel chainsaw buzzing in the distant, more toward Holly.

6 head currently, will be 4 overwinter. All 3 walking barrel females, carrying calves and the bull.

I probably should look into purchasing a calf puller, since two are hefiers.

Those heifers may have no problems at all!! Just don't over feed last couple months for large calves.
