Warm, going to hot, then to severe storms about 3 today. Changes all day. No snow though

Better get my outside work going soon. Just had coffee and some toast. Ready to begin "whatever".

Where's everyone???? Not checking in :old:oops:
*yawn* still trying to wake up. Storms in Mississippi danced around us all night. This afternoon, going to visit the wife's aunt. She said something yesterday while on the phone about giving me some canning lids?
"Me", the Yankee, not her blood niece.

I’m here, moving slow. I’m beat up and sore from working on the roof. I dropped a 2x6 on my foot yesterday and could barely hobble outside for even big chores. It hurt so bad I almost went to an ER clinic. Almost. I took 3 Advil and propped foot up until bedtime, took an OTC Benadryl sleeping pill, slept until 6:30. Taking day off. I’m whipped.

I’ve got to get radiant heat barrier down on back side of the roof, it should be easier and go faster. I’ll cleat it down with 2x4s to make the lath strips for the metal. Supposed to have help from someone who knows how to do metal roofs and deal with the vents, on Saturday.

family event yesterday so there was a lot of prep and cleaning for that. went well. glad it's over.

got to meet neice and nephew's doggies/puppies. one was confined to cab of truck for the few minutes they were here, but they had to leave so i could only say hello for a moment through the open window. golden lab pup so probably a nice dog. :) other was a doodle of some kind and purely an indoor dog so it came inside (no shedding), it took a while to calm down but we played and had some fun and i could tell it would be a cuddle monster. i think my neice got pictures of me laying on the floor and playing with it and a tennis ball. :) and then they left. the good thing about it is that they are other people's pets. i love kitties and doggies but i do not want any of my own so when they visit and leave that is perfect. :)

of course it was good to see everyone. :)

my room was cleaned up pretty well for a change but there is still too much stuff in here that i did not want a doggie to get into so i just kept my door closed. the doggie would probably have not gotten into anything but i did not want to tempt it. it liked to go around and sniff everything but on the whole it was a nice doggie and we'd be fine if we spent more time together.

Glad everyone is fine ☺️👍

Did chores. Got on tractor. I've removed and stacked some cut/dried tree limbs, bushes, etc. Mowed 3 acres and did some prelim work for a section of fence to replace...30ish feet. Had moved goats into a pasture I'd mowed, repaired fence etc yesterday. All is well🤣 they're still in there!

Put stuff away, showered and now I'm done for outside work today. I'll re-check water tubs but that's all. Hot out. Storm coming? And dinner with a friend @4....unless there IS a bad storm.

I'm relaxing!

Its supposed to be 88 today, then 98 and then 100. Plus all the bombs going off (4th), its quite unpleasant. I bought a watermelon - some for hubs and mostly for the chickens. We will water heavily tomorrow a.m., so that all the new foundation plants have a chance to survive the heat.

Low humidity and high winds are causing fires here. There is a 550 acre fire in Hood River, 0% contained, homes burned. Right along the Columbia River. We've had stronger than normal afternoon winds, but there in the gorge, which is a kite sailing and wind surfing dream, its a monster wind!

Tote full of jars and rings, plus a bag of boxes of lids. Also an older church cookbook
