I was up at 4:15, [ 5:53 now]
We too are very sore and tired, That fall off the cabin roof back in 2013, 11 broken bones, has him still with 7in screws in his pelvis, very bad knees, he get more done than most would at 74 , he got the sheet metal screwed down,
we will put the trim back on either after church or tomorrow, it will be to hot out after church & lunch so, most likely Monday morning.
I put towels in the washer,
That shank I slow cooked had just enough meat and made a very nice beef & barley soup with mushrooms.,
I did got my house work done last night after dinner, I helped DH as much as I could, he is very tired and sore, I set out a frozen chicken last night, I'll cook that up for lunch.
Boy I have really enjoyed Alister Begg's ( Truth for Life) sermon series on the book of Jude, so well done! I have listened through all of them twice now.
they church Parkside Church in Ohio goes live in 45min. Pastor Begg doesnt preach every Sunday anymore, as he is getting older the associate Pastors preach too.

@CrealCritter be glad it was across the road and not on your house or barn or truck. I have seen some pictures of some cornfields laying flat on the ground where the winds and all went through.
Hard to believe that you guys actually get more "winter" than we do, yet it warms up and your growing season gets going sooner than ours and that your corn fields are as tall as a man already; and you are actually a little further north in latitude than we are...I think.... Must have a lot to do with the mountains here.
Most of ours are 3-4 ft tall.... but these rains will really help them to shoot up now.

Went to a wedding yesterday afternoon and at the last minute they moved it inside and it was a good move... it wasn't 10 minutes into the ceremony that it thundered and the skies open up into a real downpour.

Came home later and we had .65 in the rain gauge and puddles still in places. According to the radar, it looks like it came down here 1/2 to 1 hour after the wave of rain hit us up further north. Thankful for that good drink of water for the earth...

Went outside, fed, watered sheep and horse. Rats have found me. They chewed holes in the bags of feed I had stacked up. Don’t have enough metal trash cans to store all the bags I get, but I had used enough to refill and put those 8 bags away. Need more metal trash cans. Rescued a turtle from Sentry and Buford. I’ll dump him out on way to church. Dropped the trailer so I can take truck to church, then go get 1x4s . Picked up shingle trash in yard. Took a shower, waiting on time for church.

We get most of our summer weather from Texas. Occasionally it might come from the north but mostly from Texas. Things grow like crazy around here, including weeds.

Good PNW 4:45am to you all , { ok, now its 5:30 }
Its 52 out this morning, we are expecting a high of 90 today, I opened up the coop, Broody 3 is not drinking enough water, she has her very own and food and I set her out on the coop floor twice a day so she will get the blood moving in her legs + drink & poop- but thats all I can do for her.
I let the soaker hoses run slow all night on the veg garden, watered the potatoes and front herb beds last evening.
As soon as my coffee wake up time is done I'll get that chicken I thawed out in the oven and go water the corn.

We started in on the coop roof at 5pm last evening, it was much cooler then 1:30pm,

We finished it at 9pm, got all the tools hauled to the shop, and DH said "you have no idea how glad I am that that task is over 🥰😘" getting up and down on that roof plus on his knees is a killer for him,

On to my next task-
make sure I have fall veg seed planted- I want more

spinach, cilantro, kale, beets etc...
getting all those herbs dried out and bagged up,
I have an outdoor laundry set up I nee to finish working on,
I need to get more of those 3 pint canning jars, and line out my canning stuff.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 :caf
